Various former AmVets Locations in St. Petersburg Florida
This is the Monroe Block Building in the Edge district of St. Petersburg, Fl.
The American Veterans of WWII had their meetings, and functions in a hall called, "AmVets Hall", in this building at 1126 Central ave in the mid to late 1940's.
This place also known as the "Foxhole" was available for returning Veterans to mingle and seek adjustment and obtain guidance on help and programs to adjust to civilian life after the war.
The Monroe Block building was one of the first permanent meeting places for AmVets members and other Veterans to meet.

Some places included the Coca-Cola bottling plant, the St Petersburg Yacht club, the Vinoy Fill at 6th ave NE and Bayshore, 927 MLK Blvd, and 421 45th Ave South.
