The Amvets Post 0001 "LADIES AUXILIARY" is nearly as old as the American Veterans Organization. The Ladies Auxiliary in St Petersburg, was Chartered on March 7, 1944 and is the oldest "AmVets Ladies Auxiliary" in the Nation.

Highlights of various accomplishments of the Auxiliary, one fact will include that one of the Ladies, Mrs David Griner, created the first AmVets White Clover that was accepted as the Official Amvets National Flower. Originally called the "think of me" flower and later known as "Remember Me".
The sale of the white clover used to be a big production with many of the Top city officials buying the first lot of flowers.
