Our Old Location

After over 30 years located in the Coquina Key Shopping Plaza at 421 45th Ave S, we had to move due to the razing of the Plaza, where apartments and a small shopping area are scheduled to be built.

Supposedly we have a first choice to return when the new shopping area is completed.

It has been a costly and long process in trying to establish a new location for our AMVETS Post 0001 -

We were formally located at 421 45th Ave, in the Coquina Key Plaza for over the past 30 years. It was necessary to vacate that location in the summer of 2023 due to the scheduled demolition of the plaza.

We eventually found a new location at 1067 62nd Ave South (former site of the DMV office) in 2024, however we have not been able to open for business due to one permit or another, waiting for paperwork or codes or city approval. We have been hopeful these past several months that any day we will be approved, but it seems to be one brick wall after another and if we can't open soon it may be the end of us.

We still must pay rent and utilities without any daily source of income. We hold several Fish Fry's, raffles and yard sales monthly to try to earn operational expenses.

Please help us with any contribution possible and pray we are able to open in January 2025. Update: All approvals needed have been accomplished and work in progress in order to open hopefully will be completed by March 1st 2025, come back soon to check on progress.
